This spring, The Meetinghouse is proud to host a group of interns from Ridgefield High School. Throughout their internship, these young leaders have been exploring what leadership means—not only individually, but as a team.
Their work has touched many corners of our community. In the wetlands, they are removing invasive species and restoring walking paths. In The Market, they are serving guests and helping support a thriving community space.
Now, they are bringing those experiences together through the creation of the Better Together Summit.
Using the Appreciative Inquiry process, the interns are designing and leading a gathering that will help participants discover their strengths, passions, and opportunities to contribute to the Ridgefield community.
The Better Together Summit will take place on Tuesday, June 2, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. We invite you to join the conversation and support these emerging leaders. All ages are welcome! To attend, register below.
As the interns prepare to host the Better Together Summit, we asked them to reflect on their experience so far at The Meetinghouse: What does The Meetinghouse mean to you? Here are their responses.
Simon: “The Meetinghouse is an organization that plans events to inspire the gathering of community around topics of holistic wellbeing, regenerative practice and wise leadership.”
Adam: “The Meetinghouse is a non-profit organization that hosts community events like summits, clean-ups, yoga, and more. They’re built on three pillars discovered through centuries of existence: holistic wellbeing, regenerative practice, and wise leadership. They strive to make the community a better place through practices like Blue Standard certification.”
Erin: “The Meetinghouse is a historic house where people in the community come to gather. It focuses on wellness and community building and is a third place for people to come and feel at home.”
Sam: “The Meetinghouse is a diverse community where you are safe, welcome, and supported by the people around you. There is also a café and events that are hosted so we can bring community together.”
Ian: “I would introduce it as a café and a place where people can come and talk about their day and just have a good time in general.”
Annie: “The Meetinghouse is an entire community on its own. It has wellness, social, musical, philosophical, religious, environmental, and even more events. It’s a place for to give everyone an opportunity to interact with different people.”
The future of our community is shaped by the people who show up, listen, and lead. We’re grateful for the interns who are doing just that. If you cross paths at The Meetinghouse, take a moment to say hello—you may be inspired by what they’re discovering and creating together.
