Artist’s Biography
Gazmend Bakalli is a contemporary artist who lives and works in Danbury, Connecticut.
Born in 1961 in Shkodër, Albania, G.Bakalli fled Albania in 1990 for political and artistic freedom. He studied at the of Fashion Institute of Technology, NYC for illustration and advertising.
During nineties G.Bakalli worked for a fine art printing studio in New York City where he worked with famous artists like R. Lichtenstein, M Delacroix, Kiki Smith, Lorna Simpson etc.
G.Bakalli has exhibited his works in various group shows in the New York area.
Bakalli’s art embodies a harmonious marriage of his Albanian roots and his experiences in the United States, resulting in a visual narrative that speaks to the complexities of identity, migration, and human connection.
