Gratitude is the heart’s memory.

Gratitude is the heart’s memory.

French Proverb

There is so much to be grateful for this month—and updates to share!

First, heartfelt thanks to The Market launch team: Launch Manager Michelle Falcone, baristas Scott Augustine, Kya Dulka, and Gina Higgins, and Team Greisers—Adrienne Burke and Isabel Daniels—whose commitment to community flourishing mirrors our own. Thank you for helping bring our vision to life! A special thank-you as well to Jane Grassi, current and former students, and the local potters who created the Community Cupboard mugs—some of which are still available!

We’re thrilled to introduce our market team: Coffee Bar & Retail Manager Maggie Swomley, and baristas Gabby Storms, Eliza Rose and Jay Shim. They are here to serve you with warmth, humor and care!

Join us for breakfast, lunch, or simply a cup of coffee Tuesday-Sunday, 8am-4pm.  Or pick up supper: we have extended market hours for shopping from 4-6pm, Tuesday-Friday.  Need a gift for a birthday, teacher, or thank you for a hostess?  Check out our beautifully curated shop of local gifts and goods.

While you’re here, we invite you to explore the:

  • Shields Hall Gallery to see the RHS Art Exhibit
  • Wellness Center where yoga classes, meditation, and wellness workshops take place
  • Second-floor gallery featuring photography by Angela Jane
  • New Youth Leadership Center in the lower level of the Martinsen Barn
  • Sit on the patio, walk the labyrinth and wetlands paths, make a call from the Wind Phone.

Take time to dwell on this amazing historic property.  Find yourself restored and refreshed.

MORE Updates

Deep gratitude to Wellness Resident Claire Walker Moffatt, the visionary behind the Wellness Center. Claire, you created more than a schedule of yoga classes and wellness workshops—you embodied wellbeing. You’ve built a remarkable team with yoga instructors Kristy Liesegang and Fanta Waterman. As you move to Michigan, we send you off with love and immense appreciation. Your wisdom and presence will be deeply missed.

Welcome to Youth Leadership Resident Fanta Waterman, who will lead the Middle School Youth Leadership Initiative (sponsored by the State of Connecticut), as well as teach yoga. Fanta understands that whole leadership requires the whole person. More details coming later this month!

Finally, congratulations to Environmentalist in Residence Heather Cochrane, who recently received her Master’s in Environmental Science from Southern Connecticut State University. We can’t wait to experience Forest Bathing in the Wetlands and learn more about your research.

Together we thrive,

Deborah Rundlett
