When students at Ridgefield High School returned from summer break, they were greeted with extraordinary news: their Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter had been recognized by the Connecticut State Board of Education.
The chapter received the Career and Technical Student Organization Outstanding Service Project Award for the State of Connecticut—an honor that highlights the remarkable work students put into their community service project with The Meetinghouse.
“We were honored to earn this award for the State of Connecticut,” shared Kelly Predham, RHS Business Education Teacher. “This initiative gave our students an incredible learning experience—both individually and as a team.”
Spotlight on Student Leadership
Special recognition goes to Rashi, Zavia, and Ryan, who spearheaded the project, wrote the report, and presented it at both the Annual State and National Conferences. Their leadership helped showcase the team’s dedication, creativity, and commitment to community impact.
Predham noted her pride in all members of the chapter:
“We are equally grateful to every student who volunteered their time and hard work that weekend. We are beyond proud and truly thankful for the way this all came together.”
Building on Past Success
Earlier this year, the chapter earned First Place in Connecticut at the FBLA State Leadership Conference for their thoughtful report and engaging presentation of The Meetinghouse Project. That win secured their spot at the National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, California—an experience that amplified their voices and represented Connecticut on a national stage.

This recognition from the Connecticut State Board of Education affirms the value of student-led projects that bridge classroom learning with real-world impact. The Meetinghouse is proud to have partnered with such a dedicated group of young leaders, and we can’t wait to see what they accomplish next.
