Deborah Anne Rundlett

Founding Director & Theorist-Practitioner

Deborah Rundlett is the Founding Director of The Meetinghouse, a living commons rooted in an historic place and oriented toward a shared future—where people gather to be, belong, and become. She is the designer of Poets & Prophets, a formational journey for leaders called to cultivate lives, communities, and systems that are generative and life-giving.

A theorist–practitioner at the intersection of leadership, change, and human development, Debbie is the architect of the Formational Set—a living framework that understands leadership as formation: ontological before behavioral, relational before individual, and always unfolding within a field of belonging. Her work weaves perennial wisdom, change theory, and memory into practices that help leaders cross thresholds, stay present in tension, and participate in the emergence of new possibilities.

At The Meetinghouse, this work takes root in real soil—through cohorts, community practices, and the quiet, steady work of tending a place where transformation is not programmed, but cultivated. Here, formation is not abstract. It is lived—around tables, across generations, in conversation, in silence, and in the shared work of building something that can hold us all.

Debbie serves as a founding steward of the Global Consciousness Institute and as a member of the steering board for the Humanistic Leadership Academy. She is currently writing Poets & Prophets—A Formational Journey for Change Leaders and The Meetinghouse (Pilgrim Press, 2028), while advancing the scholarly articulation and research of the Formational Set.

Her work is grounded in a simple but demanding conviction: the whole leader requires the whole person—body, mind, and soul—and communities that can sustain that wholeness over time.

She lives in Ridgefield, Connecticut, in a pre-Revolutionary War home with her husband, Dick, and their Labrador Retriever, Abby.

Fun Fact: Debbie has a deep love for Canadian authors—Robertson Davies and Louise Penny among her favorites—and is always open to a good book recommendation.
