James Hooker is the Manager of The Market at The Meetinghouse. They recently graduated from Stevens Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Arts in Music & Technology. They have been in various bands since 2020, producing albums, setting up tours, and organizing concerts across the US and Canada with their independent record label, Be Here Sound.

They believe in the importance of “how” things are done, rather than “what” is done. Doing all things with conscious intention and calmness is pivotal to their life’s purpose. Developing consciousness day by day, combined with the healing power of community space and fellowship, is one of their main goals.
James holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in Music & Technology from Stevens Institute of Technology, and is also a certified 200 hour yoga teacher.
They are currently engaged in developing a welcoming “third place” for the community with the Market. They envision a healthy, productive, community space for people to study, create, learn, share, listen to records, and much more. Outside of The Meetinghouse, they are deeply involved with the independent music scene in Connecticut and the tristate area, and are always working on new projects in the scene.
