Winter Solstice at The Meetinghouse

Join us on Sunday, December 21st to honor the Winter solstice.

At The Meetinghouse, we honor the rhythms of the seasons for care of self and community.

• 1:30 – 2:30 pm – Forest Bathing with Heather Cochrane, Environmentalist in Residence 
  Also known as shinrin-yoku in Japanese, a regenerative practice that involves using your senses to connect with nature. This practice can help reduce stress, improve mood and sleep. As this event is outside, please be sure to dress for the weather. Cost: $12. Tickets can be purchased below.
• 3:00 – 4:00 pm – Winter Solstice Lantern Making with Wellness Resident Kate Loewengart, RYT 200 Hour
  Join us to make winter solstice lanterns – tissue paper, cut-outs and natural materials all combine to create a beautiful stained-glass-like creation to light the night. As the sun sets and we complete our projects, we will join together for a small parade on The Meetinghouse lawn to honor the shortest day and welcome the holiday week. Participants should bring their own jar, or you can purchase one for an additional cost on the day of for as long as they are available. Cost: There will be a materials fee of $5 per individual, $10 per household. Tickets can be purchased below.
• 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm – Open Mic Night in The Market – FREE to the community
  Join us for open mic night in The Market! Perform your own music, poetry, or comedy to a welcoming and low-stress environment. Grab a coffee, sit back and enjoy the vibes! All are welcome.

To help us plan for the event, we encourage you to register early! But tickets will be available the day of for the lantern-making portion.
