If you are currently a teenager, someone who spends time with teens, or remembers your own teenage years, you know how tumultuous those years can be. As teens are preparing to launch into life after high school and into adulthood, the world looks very uncertain. The role of AI in the workforce is still being determined. Jobs come and go. The changing climate will affect how we all live. While all this may seem daunting, it also offers tremendous possibilities for the leaders of tomorrow to shape a world that works for both people and planet.
Starting Thursday, September 17th, The Meetinghouse will be running a cohort of Poets & Prophets just for teenagers 16-18 years of age. This cohort will be a small group. It will not matter how many sports or clubs a teen is a part of or how long their resume is, nor will it matter if they know what they want to do as a career or not. This cohort will help teenagers figure out who they are as a person, and what differences they can make in their communities as change leaders.
As we journey, the teens will look at their own stories, find where they need to grow, look for where they belong and what might be a calling for them. The cohort will meet weekly starting September 17th and ending on November 19th. We will meet 5:00-6:30 p.m. upstairs above the gallery. During the sessions we will have guided discussions, time to dwell with one another, and journaling time. This is a free offering.
