Dear Meetinghouse Community,
There is much taking root at The Meetinghouse—in music and art, in conversations over coffee, in practices of wellbeing, and in the care we offer one another and the land.
Together, these are expressions of a Living Commons: a shared place whose life grows through our participation. Each of us brings something to this community—our curiosity, creativity, questions, experience, and willingness to care. Together, we are discovering what it means to be, belong, and become.
Our three pillars—Holistic Wellbeing, Regenerative Practices, and Wise Leadership—help connect these experiences. They invite us to care for the whole person, renew our relationships with Earth and one another, and bring discernment and generosity to the world we share. Explore our three pillars.
The Way of Flourishing: an exploration
One invitation this season is to explore The Way of Flourishing together. How might the rhythms of everyday life help us become more attentive, deepen belonging, and contribute to the flourishing of Soul, Earth, and the Common Good?
Through reflection, conversation, and small practices between gatherings, we will explore the ground and practice of the Way, covenant, everyday rhythms, thresholds, the capacities of Poet and Prophet, and the invitation to carry this learning into our lives.
Our next gathering is Thursday, November 5, from 4–5:30 p.m. Session 2 focuses on The Ground of the Way; please read Part I beforehand. After November 5, we will meet on the first and third Wednesdays of each month, from 4–5:30 p.m. through the first Wednesday of February 2027.
Whether you were part of the first gathering or are joining now, you are welcome. Bring your questions and the life you are actually living.
Around the Commons this November
There are many ways to participate:
- Art: Everything Under the Sun, featuring cyanotype and lumen prints by Fruma Markowitz, is on display through November 22 (it is an amazing exhibit that you do not want to miss!)
- Care and companionship: Processing the Waves of Grief, a no-cost support group for adults 60+, meets November 3, 10, and 17, from 10:30 a.m.–noon.
- Live music: The XUR Tour Homecoming Show brings music to The Meetinghouse on November 7, from 6–10 p.m. Tickets available at the door.
- Formation and conversation: Poets & Prophets—A Formational Journey gathers November 13 and 20, from 10:30 a.m.–noon. Born out of 40 years of research on leader formation and change (see the core theory document here.)
- Community creativity: Open Mic in Shield’s Hall takes place November 18, from 5–7 p.m., with sign-up at 5 and performances beginning at 5:30.
Visit Meetinghouse.life for these offerings and the full calendar for details and registration information.
There is also room for the quieter ways of belonging: coffee at The Market, time on the grounds, forest bathing, a visit to the Gallery, or a conversation with someone you have yet to meet.
Help tend what is growing
A Living Commons takes shape through shared care. You might bring a friend, welcome someone new, offer time or a skill, or help sustain the place through a gift. Our 250 for 250 initiative offers ways to participate in that shared stewardship.
Choose an invitation that speaks to you. Come with something to offer, something to learn, or simply a need for company. Your presence helps shape the life we are growing together.
Together we thrive,

Deborah Rundlett
