Hello from The Meetinghouse!

Can you believe the month of June is upon us?  We have a lot of exciting news to share!

We welcome the Ridgefield Schools for a Student Art Show, which will be on exhibit through the end of the month.  There will be a reception tomorrow from 2 – 4 pm in Shields Hall.  Come and meet the amazing artists behind the exhibit and see their work.  Gallery hours are Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday from 1 – 4 pm, or by appointment.

Then on, Monday, June 5^th at 4 pm, you are invited to join us for the groundbreaking of The Martinsen Barn.  We are deeply thankful to Bob Martinsen and donors from the Ridgebury Congregational Church, who have made this restoration and repurposing possible.  Come fall, we look forward to welcoming Cornerstone Home & Gardens, along with a café and market, into the space. We hope you stop by for a glass of champagne, Pellegrino or lemonade.

Next Friday, June 9^th from 6 – 8 pm, collaborative partner Art in Common will have a reception for Daniel Baker who will be on exhibit on the second floor of Shields Hall.

On Monday, June 12 from 9:30 am – 11:30 am, Anita Howard, our contributor for Social Justice and Change Leadership will be at The Meetinghouse.   Our focus will be to explore fostering collaborative interaction toward the flourishing of community by providing a:

·       Leveler where connection and conversation are open and inclusive … and social identity and socio-economic status are not barriers;

·       Opportunities for the formation of the leader;

·       Context in which to ask and live questions that matter; and

·       Brave space for people to be, belong and become.

Our time together is intended as dialogue toward the ways that we can together thrive.

A part of our time will be used to review the Wellbeing Index 2023 that we might ponder the implications together.  It will also be a time to network and provide update one another on our work.

Finally, on Sunday, June 25 from 5 – 7 pm, join us on the lawn as Wennie Lynn’s Food Truck is back by popular demand.  Good food.  Good vibes.
