What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese energetic and healing practice developed in the early 1900s by Mikao Usui.  Practitioners channel healing energy through their hands into the patient’s body to raise energy and balance energy chakras.

What can Reiki improve?

Blocked energy can manifest into physical disease or a mental imbalance.

Energy can be left stagnate or slow moving where there is an emotional block or physical injury.  Energy medicine like reiki, acupressure, and acupuncture aim to improve the flow of energy around the body.  This enables relaxation, reduction in pain, and reduction in illness symptoms.

What health conditions has it been used for in hospitals and health settings?

What sensations will I feel during the session?

Most patients slip into a deep relaxed state.  Others report feeling heat, chills, or vibration as energy is released through the body.  It is common to have a small emotional release in which the patient will feel trapped emotions.  Patients have also reported seeing colors, images or more connected to God.

What happens after a session?

Most patients report a sense of clarity, relaxation, less anxiety and a recharge of energy.  Less pain and more comfort are also reported.
